Wassily Kandinsky, born in Moscow in 1866, is universally acknowleged as the founder of abstraction and the father of modern art. His move from the representational to pure abstraction was taking place between 1907 and 1912. This period of time coincides with the making of the prints on offer here.

Not to be confused with later restrikes, the woodcuts for sale on this website are from the original first edition of Kandinsky's iconic series Klangë, printed in Germany in 1913. A copy of the signed justification page accompanies each print.
